About me

Wijnand Vlok
Drachten, Netherlands

Wijnand Vlok works as a nature and environmental artist. His starting point is to abstract the existing environment into tranquil forms. The experience of form, colour, light and movement are fragments transformed into work with a playful touch. Wijnand works in various disciplines: digital illustrations, paintings and 3D collages. You are welcome by appointment; also to work on your own artwork in the studio in peace. Education: Grafisch Lyceum, Utrecht and the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, Amsterdam.

Illustrations

The digital illustrations are printed on aluminum, acrylic glass, giclée prints on paper and pigment prints on textiles. The images come with a certificate and a mounted hanging system. Smaller or larger sizes are possible.

3D Collages

3D collages with a nod to abstraction. The frames are part of the artwork's expression, as the freeform shapes extend beyond the edges. The collages are made with wood, cardboard, acrylic paint, thickeners, and hardener.

Paintings

Wijnand's painting technique is figurative with a nod to abstraction and zoomed-in simplified forms.

About the prints

Each print is checked for colour and quality and comes with a numbered certificate and a mounted hanging system. Smaller or larger sizes are possible; a quote is available upon request. If you would like more information about the prints, Wijnand will gladly discuss it with you.

Design work

Alongside his own work, Wijnand designs and illustrates on commission: corporate identities, campaigns, custom illustrations, packaging and book covers. See his design work.
